Blenderpdx.org - Public Facing Website

Blenderpdx.org is up and running (blenderpdx.com works as well). Everyone's invited to become Authors/Contributors, however rather than go through and set everyone up, I'm leaving it open for each to Register and Sign up with the username and password they prefer. By default, when you register, you'll be asked to submit a username and email. The username cannot be changed. Wordpress will send you a password that's pretty tough to remember, but once you sign in you an edit your profile and change your password.

By default you're set up as a subscriber, however once we see that you've logged in, and we verify, we'll change to give you the appropriate permissions.

Let me know if you have any questions,

Nate (Irishspacemonk)

I haven't noticed any traffic other than the four of us (J, Philip, Nate and I). I'm wondering if anyone else has seen the message.

Any thoughts about sending a notice to the Google mailing list? (I think we have one of those, right?)

About other BUGs and web sites-- I think we may be unusual in having the kind of resources and expertise in web work at hand right from the start. I'm sure the WordPress site will see a fair bit of use after a few weeks or months. It may take longer for the wiki to build a head of steam and start chugging. But it will be there when we are ready for it.

Multiversal Empires Collaboration Project (jenuvyel)

Though I haven't made a deliberate search, I have not noticed any other Blender User Groups sporting their own websites.

I can't shake the wonderful feeling that our websites go a long way to legitimizing and substantiating our group that much more than other groups. They present a lot of opportunities.

… And they look good, too.

It looks good, Nate! Let me be the first to thank you for taking this on. It will be a great place for members to show off their works, and to get out the word about who we are and what we are doing.
