Middle-Aged Couple Breaking the Barriers to Become Top Influencers
Looking at the average age of the top influencers, they fall under the age of twenty-five years. However, one 50-something couple is breaking the barrier to becoming top influencers.
Chuck Fresh and Felicia B are from Viera, Florida, and they started with the 'Make Millions on Shopify' trend. They decided to pivot and build a business with proceeds creating American jobs. They closed their Shopify store and partnered with Amazon and Etsy. Out of their intention to help people shop at a time when the world was facing one of the greatest public health challenges of our times, the couple decided to create several YouTube channels where they would offer vital information for people who were looking to shop for or make their own gifts during the 2020 and 2021COVID-19 Christmas seasons. With the majority of shopping online, there was a challenge; they could not get all the information they needed to make a purchase. So Fresh and Felicia came on board, started recording video reviews, and providing shoppers with vital information as they shopped for their Christmas gifts.
They had started in the crafting arena using Cricut and Silhouette cutting machines, but have since moved to home goods and accessories. As part of their education and review venture, the top influencers usually order products, evaluate hundreds of products, and post videos showing their outcomes.
The two are not new to marketing and influencing. Fresh was a former marketing manager and is a national radio announcer. He serves as host of several YouTube shows and documentaries. Felicia B has not yet moved to influence as a full-time job. She still holds a day job and prefers to stay anonymous for now. She is described as a “superbly creative artist with a wonderful pseudonymous persona.”
Felicia is the “straight-man "in their fun-filled education and review sessions, while Fresh is the comical partner who is not afraid to ask the weird questions many would not be comfortable asking. They have grown their Family Unit channels from zero subscribers to more than 4,000 in a few months. Creating followership from scratch is one of the most challenging things to do in the world of influencing. Various brands have recognized the couple’s efforts, and they are now partnering several at Amazon and Etsy.
Although they are in the field that young people dominate, the middle-aged couple is not relenting; they are giving the younger influencers a run for their money. They are now featured hosts on the new Amazon Live platform, a live video where people shop in real-time and ask questions. In addition, their Livestream shopping experience is followed by thousands of shoppers on the Amazon website and other platforms.
The couple has built a makeshift studio in their apartment with plans to expand to dual studios in their new home. For them, the game has just started, and they plan to continue growing their global reach. "We provide shoppers with honest reviews, allowing them to make sound decisions," said Felicia.
