Meghan Trainor: From All About That Bass to Takin' It Back

Meghan Trainor burst onto the music scene with her debut hit "All About That Bass" in 2014, sending a positive message about body acceptance that resonated with audiences worldwide. Her subsequent hits like "Lips Are Movin" and "Dear Future Husband" cemented her status as a role model for a new generation of pop ringtones free.

In 2016, Trainor won the "Best New Artist" Grammy Award, along with two nominations for "Song of the Year" and "Record of the Year". It seemed like her early success would propel her career to greater heights, but her subsequent albums Thank You (2016), Treat Myself (2020), and A Very Trainor Christmas (2020) failed to generate the same buzz.

During this time, Trainor underwent vocal cord surgery multiple times, got married, and became a mother. Her music career took a backseat as she shifted her focus to television shows and producing her own podcast series.

In late 2021, Trainor's 7-year-old song "Title" unexpectedly went viral on TikTok with 2.6 million videos, due to a dispute with her record label. Taking it as a sign to get back to music, Trainor quickly recorded her fifth studio album, Takin' It Back. The album sees her returning to the Doo-wop sound that was a hit on her debut album.

The lead single from the album, "Made You Look" has become a viral sensation on TikTok and reached number 11 on the Billboard Hot 100, marking Trainor's first Top 40 hit since 2016. In an interview, Trainor credited TikTok for bringing her back into the spotlight and reigniting her passion for music.

As a testament to her enduring popularity, Trainor has been selected to judge on the Australian Idol 2023 program. Her journey from a young pop star to a seasoned musician with a loyal fan base serves as an inspiration to anyone facing setbacks in their career. With her talent and determination, Meghan Trainor is sure to continue making waves in the music industry for years to come.
