Update received October 2012: Gracie is doing very well and we can't express how happy we are to have her here as part of our family. She is the most amazing and sweetest dog we have met. She has even finally become relaxed enough that she lays down when she eats rather than scarfing down her whole food bowl in 30 seconds because I think she has accepted and come to understand that she is in a good place and won't have to worry about where her next meal will come from - although she still enjoys catching the occasional bird or rabbit!
