"FOR MANY ARE CALLED --BUT FEW ARE CHOSEN" Matthew 22:14

“FOR MANY ARE CALLED --BUT FEW ARE CHOSEN”  Matthew 22:14

Most Christians have never fully repented and are deceived about their spiritual condition. They may even have spiritual gifts --but they are still unforgiven and unconverted  men. Jesus said:

Matthew 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

Matthew 7:22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

Matthew 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. [iniquity is anomia --transgression of the law.]

Remember that Peter and Judas both had powerful spiritual gifts; but those wonderful signs and wonders  are not the evidence of conversion to the new birth. If your spiritual condition is the same as Peter's was when he lied to the servant girl, then you are still an unforgiven, unconverted man. Jesus said this to Peter when He told him that he would deny him three times:

Luke 22:31 And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat:

Luke 22:32 But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and WHEN THOU ART CONVERTED, strengthen thy brethren.

All of the Israel of God have been called; but only the few whose faith has been tested and approved will receive the crown of eternal life. Most Christians have never fully repented and are deceived about their spiritual condition. They may even have spiritual gifts --but they are still unforgiven, unconverted  and sons of perdition.
