Honey & Lemon for Allergy and Cold Relief Honey is one of the Best things in nature used since Ancient times for its curing powers and healing properties http://herbalhealthcare-daw.blogspot.com/2013/01/sore-throat-and-cough-remedy.html <--
to make- cut up 2 lemons, ( Organic Preferred ) drop them in a small mason jar and pour raw honey over them until it fills up about 1/3 of the jar. You can immediately see the juice from the lemon being drawn out by the honey and the two swirling together. Let it sit in the fridge, over the next few weeks the lemon will darken and the mixture will thicken. The peels and pulp will break down as well and leave behind a golden, lumpy marmalade that you can scoop into a cup and poor piping hot water over for tea
or take a Tablespoon once a day or as needed
Add 1/4 tsp Cinnamon or 1/4 tsp Ginger or 1/4 tsp Cayenne powder for more Antibacterial fighting Goodness ~Daw
use it on Toast or Tea or Cheesecake and Dozens of other uses Facial Scrub

yeah I would try it, but it seems you have to anticipate the cold a couple weeks in advance!

it seems like a lot of work - I'll stick to my neti pot and Big PHARMA!

Papa Tom's sister Lois made something similar but much quicker for me when I had a cold in Pittsburg as a teenager on a visit: squeeze juice from lemons (or a bottle), add hot water and honey. It really helped!

Yeah, I would rather make it fresh. It's good too to just drink hot water with lemon juice(or other juice if you don't have lemons) every morning to flush out everything. Been doing it about 30 years! Katharine, I like the Squip Nasaline Nasal Rinsing system for sinus problems.

I like the idea of drinking it fresh. Letting it ferment in the fridge is what I am hesitant to do. Ewww.
