JESUS CHRIST HAS A MORE EXCELLENT NAME THAN ANGELS!
A FOUNDATIONAL TRUTH: “For there is one God [the Father], and one mediator between God [The Father] and men, the man Christ Jesus;” 1 Ti 2:5
In the Old Testament, we read about “The angel of the Lord” appearing to men and women on many occasions. That angel was Christ, as mediator, before he became a man.*
The Spirit of Christ inspired the Old Testament prophets. Today, the Father speaks to us through His Son. It was the Son through whom also he made the worlds. (Heb 1:2) Angels are created spirits; and yes, they minister to the saints --but to seek their protection, counsel, help or to pray to them is to deny the all-sufficiency of Christ. Here, Paul warned the Colossians about that heresy:
COL 2:18 Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind,
The words of Christ are true; but the teaching of angels must be judged. Satan deceives Christians with doctrines of demons:
“Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;” 1 Timothy 4:1-2

“AND TO WHICH OF THE ANGELS SAID HE AT ANY TIME
* Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son?
* Sit on my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool? Hebrews 1:5;13
BUT UNTO THE SON HE SAITH:
“Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom.
Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.” Hebrews 1:8-9
