ECCLESIASTES or, The Preacher says:

ECCLESIASTES or, The Preacher says:

“Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: FEAR GOD, AND KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS: FOR THIS IS THE WHOLE DUTY OF MAN. For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.” Eccl 12:13-14

We must “prove all things and hold fast that which is good.”* Yet many Christians have been falsely taught that to question the source of spiritual voices, gifts and ministries is “blaspheming the Holy Spirit.”

Not so. These words: “Prove all things and hold fast that which is good” are for our protection. Put everything, and everybody, to the test of the Ten Commandments and the words of Jesus. The Holy Spirit will NEVER EVER lead a person to disobey God’s commandments.

This is serious business, folks. Think about these people who thought God was speaking to them -- and they were serving Him -- but they transgressed the law. Jesus said: “Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.” Matthew 7:22-23.

Those people were all Christians who called Jesus Lord. They had spiritual gifts - but they were deceived and did not obey Him. Do you? How about the Sabbath Commandment that honors Him?
