Why Give Out Life Saving Gospel of Johns and Tracts?
Because:
The early believers shared "the Good News about Jesus wherever they went" and not just once a month.
Acts 8:4 But the believers who were scattered preached the Good News about Jesus wherever they went. NLT
Because they followed the example of Jesus' Apostles of "telling everyone"
Mark 6:12 So the disciples went out, telling everyone they met to repent of their sins and turn to God. NLT
The early believers, since they had received power obeyed Jesus to be his "witnesses, telling people about me everywhere".
Acts 1:8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere-in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth. NLT
Paul also expected ALL believers to "boldly speak God's message" instead of missing opportunities.
Philippians 1:14 And because of my imprisonment, most of the believers here have gained confidence and boldly speak God's message without fear. NLT
Giving a person a Gospel of John or a Christian tract is the greatest gift we can give. It is "Loving our neighbor as ourselves". If I didn't know Jesus I would desperately want someone to give me the way of salvation. Wouldn't you?
Mark 12:31 The second is equally important: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' No other commandment is greater than these. NLT
Giving Gospel of Johns or tracts to those God brings across our path is a very effective form of evangelism to those who we will probably never see again. A different approach is necessary for those who we have an ongoing relationship with.
Our default should be to share God's Good News with store employees and others we come into contact with. Who are we to choose to withhold God's good news?
The goal is to be faithful in sharing the Good News with whoever God brings across our path, even store employees that we spend even a minute with.
