The Seventh Day Sabbath Honors The Creator
JESUS CHRIST IS LORD OF THE SABBATH!
The Seventh Day Sabbath makes a distinction between The God of Israel and the many gods of the heathen. Only The God of Israel is the CREATOR of the heavens and the earth. Who said:
"REMEMBER the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: ...
For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it." Exod 20:8-11
The Sabbath didn't begin at Mount Sinai, The Sabbath dates back to Adam and Eve, just as Jesus said:
"The sabbath was made for MAN, and not man for the sabbath: Therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath." Mark 2:27-28
The Sabbath was made for all mankind. On Mount Sinai, God told ancient Israel to REMEMBER the Sabbath Day and keep it holy. When the people were unfaithful and broke their covenant with God, through disobedience to His Commandments, God gave this promise to Israel:
"Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah ... This shall be the covenant that I will make with THE HOUSE OF ISRAEL; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people." Jer 31:32-34 (KJV)
THE OLD COVENANT WAS WITH ISRAEL
AND WAS WRITTEN IN STONE
THE NEW COVENANT IS WITH ISRAEL
AND IS WRITTEN IN THE HEART
BUT THE COMMANDMENTS REMAIN THE SAME
Today, Gentiles and Jews, who have faith in Jesus Christ, are the Israel of God. The Sabbath Commandment is no longer written on tables of stone, but is now engraved upon the hearts of the people of God. By keeping the Sabbath Day holy, they honor Jesus Christ, The Lord Of The Sabbath, through whom all things were created.
