SANCTIFIED, PRESERVED AND CALLED

“Jude, the servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, to them that are SANCTIFIED by God the Father, and PRESERVED in Jesus Christ, and CALLED:” Jude 1:1

The short epistle of Jude is addressed to Christians of every level of spiritual growth. So, these words apply to every person who calls himself a follower of Jesus Christ:

“Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that YE SHOULD EARNESTLY CONTEND FOR THE FAITH WHICH WAS ONCE DELIVERED UNTO THE SAINTS.

For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.” Jude 1:3-4

All teaching that contradicts the words of Jesus and the apostles must be exposed and corrected.

THE WORD OF GOD IS THE CHRISTIAN’S SWORD --satan wants to ban our weapon. No matter how you define “the word of God” it MUST include the ten commandments. There may be more commandments but their cannot be LESS! Those who refuse to obey the 4th commandment, refuse to obey the word of God.

In his war against the kingdom of God, satan must use deception to keep people in his kingdom of sin and death. To succeed, he must still the voices of those who expose his deceptions and proclaim truth. He does this with reasonings that say it is wrong to “proselytize”* and is “contentious”** to correct error.

According to Jude, no Christian is exempt from opposing what they know to be false. We are called to be lovers of truth.

* proselytize - to make a convert of - to make converts.

** Paul shows us that the people who are contentious are those who do not obey the truth:

Rom 2:8 But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth,
