IS KEEPING THE FEAST DAYS A SALVATION ISSUE?
IS KEEPING THE FEAST DAYS A SALVATION ISSUE?
First let me say that I respect our sincere brethren who truly want to honor and obey God by keeping the Feast Days according to Leviticus thirteen.
However, to say that it is a salvation issue cannot be true. Why? - Because it is impossible to keep them as Yahweh commanded.
For example:
1. Lev 23:37 These are the feasts of the LORD, which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations, to offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD, a burnt offering,
In order to keep the feasts according to the statutes and judgments of God burnt offerings must be sacrificed and burned.
2. Deu 12:5 But unto the place which the LORD your God shall choose out of all your tribes to put his name there, even unto his habitation shall ye seek, and thither thou shalt come: And thither ye shall bring your burnt offerings, and your sacrifices,
In order to keep this commandment according to Torah - after the Temple was built in Jerusalem, one must journey to Jerusalem and the Temple to offer this sacrifice.
I am sure those who keep the Torah would not attempt to dispute those facts.
Feasts at Jerusalem: 2Ch 30:1 And Hezekiah sent to all Israel and Judah, and wrote letters also to Ephraim and Manasseh, that they should come to the house of the LORD at Jerusalem, to keep the Passover unto the LORD God of Israel.
In compliance to Torah we know specifically that both Jesus and Paul went to Jerusalem to keep the feasts.
Therefore no matter how sincere those are who keep the feasts - they cannot keep them according to the Torah. Certainly there is nothing wrong with honoring the feast days BUT to say that it is a salvation issue is an impossible conclusion.
Any attempt to keep the feast days is at best a counterfeit of the true feast days according to Torah. It is a black and white issue - either we are keeping them according to Torah or we are not.
I hope we will all take a moment to stop and think. If it was God's intent for the feast days to continue He would NOT have caused the Temple to be destroyed and made the house of Israel desolate.
Prophecy: Mar_13:2 And Jesus answering said unto him, Seest thou these great buildings? there shall not be left one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.
Desolation of the House of Israel: Mat 23:37 O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not!
Mat 23:38 Behold, your house is left unto you desolate.
Therefore we may observe the feast days if we wish but those who say that it is sin if we do not keep them are teaching a false gospel.
WE CANNOT KEEP THEM AS COMMANDED THEREFORE IT CANNOT BE A SALVATION ISSUE.
