WILL YOU BE BEATEN WITH MANY STRIPES?

WILL YOU BE BEATEN WITH MANY STRIPES?

“ And that servant, which knew his lord's will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes.

But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.” Luke 12:47-48

You know the seventh-day Sabbath was sanctified at creation; you know that it was made for man; you know that God has never changed his holy day or abolished it --and many of you have preached this truth to others. Then why are you ignoring the words of the Commandment and other scriptures that teach us how to observe it? Surely you have read these words:

“If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on MY HOLY DAY; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the LORD, honourable; and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words: Isa 58:13

“MY HOLY DAY — God claims it as His day; to take it for our pleasure is to rob Him of His own. This is the very way in which the Sabbath is mostly broken; it is made a day of carnal pleasure instead of spiritual “delight.” JFB

ON HIS HOLY DAY are you

Buying and selling
Going to restaurants
Working a shift to please your boss
Participating in children’s school activities
Attending family social gatherings
Playing or watching games
Medical appointments (except emergencies)
Cleaning storm damage that is not life threatening
Etc.

Now is the time to seriously examine ourselves knowing that Jesus said:

“Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.” Mat 7:13-14
