Cialis is the brand name for the drug tadalafil. Here are the primary uses for Cialis:
Erectile Dysfunction (ED): Cialis is commonly prescribed to treat erectile dysfunction in men. It helps increase blood flow to the penis, enabling a man to achieve and maintain an erection when sexually stimulated.
Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH): Cialis is also used to treat the symptoms of an enlarged prostate (benign prostatic hyperplasia-BPH). This condition can cause symptoms like difficulty in starting the flow of urine, weak stream, and the need to urinate frequently or urgently. Tadalafil works by relaxing the smooth muscle in the prostate and bladder, alleviating these symptoms.
Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension (PAH): In some formulations, tadalafil is approved to treat pulmonary arterial hypertension, a condition where the blood pressure in the lungs is too high.
