REGARDING PROPER COMMUNICATION
Hello Everyone,
We need to update everyone on protocols for calling off work. As you know, the number to always call both during office hours and after hours is 317-825-3115. Please bear in mind that naturally your phone call may not get answered right away. We try to answer the calls as promptly as we can. When we cannot answer the calls, we work to return them after the fact. To do so we need to know who called, preferably when, and a summary of the matter. Standard stuff when leaving a message.
Likewise, when calling after hours the on call person may not always answer the phone right away. If staff is calling off work during after hours please leave a message. We cannot work to fill staff call offs in a home if we are not aware the staff has "called off". By calling off, staff should have talked to someone from the Infinity Team to make them aware. If in the event, a staff person calls and there is no answer (say early in the morning when the on call person is likely in bed), then leave a message please. By leaving a message the staff person is effectively communicating the best they can given the circumstances. That person has fulfilled their job role responsibly. Outside of either directly talking to a management team member or leaving a message, a "call off" becomes a no call; no show which can result in suspension or termination. Please do the courtesy of leaving a message.
Which brings us next to an issue of courtesy. Katie the scheduler works alot to get caregivers in the homes. To do so, she must routinely reach out and call staff to see who might be able to help. Many of our staff mention they would like extra hours from time to time etc. If Joanna calls, all she is looking for is a "yes" or "no". You are not going to be penalized for refusing a non-scheduled shift. Please extend the courtesy of returning her calls when she calls. You don't want to work or cannot? Please call and say no. That is all we are asking.
Be careful out there. You are all wonderful and appreciated. Much love and respect,
