IPL Winners List 2008-2022: Awards Received By Players And Teams
The Indian Premier League (also known as the IPL) is an Twenty20 cricket tournament organized by the IPL Governing Council under the Board of Control for Cricket in India. The IPL comprises eight teams with names based upon 8 different Indian cities. BCCI founded the league in 2007. It is usually held from March through May every year.
Mumbai Indians are the most successful IPL team to have won five tournaments. They are followed by Chennai Super Kings, which has won four IPL titles.

2008 - Rajasthan Royals
Led by Shane Warne, they won the inaugural season of the IPL against CSK with players who are experienced like Shane Watson, Graeme Smith, Yusuf Pathan, and Sohail Tanvir. Yusuf Pathan played the most important match of his career, bowling and batting during the final match against CSK. He took 3 wickets that were smaller than a bowl, and scored 56 runs out of 39.
2009 - Deccan Chargers
Adam Gilchrist was the team's leader. Pragyan Ojha was a crucial player in this team with 18 wickets taken using the left-hand spin bowling. Adam Gilchrist was able to score 495 runs in 16 total matches and came second on the top run-scorers in the 2009 IPL after Mathew Hayden.
2010 - Chennai Super Kings
MS Dhoni lifted the trophy alongside his team of strong players including Suresh Raina, Albie Morkel, Mathew Hayden, and Muralitharan in their final match against the Mumbai Indians led by Sachin Tendulkar. 2011 - Chennai Super Kings
CSK was the first IPL team to win back-to-back finals over the batting giants RCB. Mr Cricket and Michael Hussey played significant innings during the IPL 2011 tournament. Murali Vijay's and Hussey's opening partnership of 159-runs against RCB was the main motivation for CSK to claim the title.
2012 - Kolkata Knight Riders
KKR defeated the champions from the previous season Chennai Super Kings in the final. Bisla accepted the responsibility of chasing , and responded with the most impressive innings of 89 in 48 balls after the KKR batsman was left with the daunting task of chasing 190 during the game. Even Suresh Raina's 73 runs out of 38 didn’t stop Kolkata Knight Riders winning.
2013 - Mumbai Indians
With players like Lasith Malinga as well as Kieron Pollard Rohit Sharma led MI to victory against CSK in the finals. The IPL tournament saw a balanced side. Throughout the match, Mitchell Johnson, Kieron and Lasith Pollard complemented each other.
2014 - Kolkata Knight Riders
KKR became the 2nd team to win the IPL trophy more than once. Manish Pandey was the hero of the final of 2014's IPL, as he let KKR chase overall 199 runs. Robin Uthappa of KKR won the orange cap by scoring the score of 660 runs in 16 innings, and Pandey scored 94 runs out of 50.
2015 - Mumbai Indians
Finals winners were fantastic players like Ambati Rayadu and Rohit Sharma, Lasithmalinga, Simmons, Kieron Pollard, and Lasith Malinga. Mumbai Indians were the third team to take home the IPL season more than once after CSK. The overall unity of the players helped take the trophy. The bowling team's Lasith Malinga scored 24 wickets. This game was played by Slingamalinga. Two additional wickets taken by Lasith Malinga were taken by Dwayne Bravo.
2016 - Sunrisers Hyderabad
The team beat Royal Challengers Bangalore by just 8 runs. David Warner managed the team skillfully as a captain. But, IPL 2016 is famous because of the partnership of Virat Kohli and Ab de Villiers in every RCB game. Virat was part of 16 innings, scoring 7 half-centuries, as well as 4 centuries. Virat was the Orange Cap winner.
2017 - Mumbai Indians
MI beat the record of being the 1st team to be able to win more than once. They won the first time in 2013 and then in 2015. The final was won against the Rising Pune Supergiants with just one run. As a captain for the Mumbai Indians, Rohit Sharma's performance was exceptional.
2018 - Chennai Super Kings
CSK was the second team that won more than two awards with veterans like Ambati Rayadu, Dhoni and Shane Watson. Dhoni did a great job and had the highest scores in matches. The main reason for their success was their bowling team that included MS Dhoni, the captain and Dwanye Bravo.
2019 - Mumbai Indians
In the finals, MI played again with Chennai Super Kings. Mumbai Indians were crowned the champions following the final match. The final bowl was the crucial aspect in the final outcome. After having won the fourth IPL title, MI became the most successful team in IPL history.
2020 - Mumbai Indians
IPL 2020 saw Mumbai Indians win the IPL title for the second consecutive year, and the total fifth time. The match was between Mi and Delhi Capitals, wherein MI won the IPL trophy by 5 wickets. Mumbai Indians also won Paytm Fairplay Award in this particular year.
2021 - Chennai Super Kings
CSK defeated KKR by 27 runs on the 15th of October 2021. CSK won the final match in Dubai with 192 runs and just three wickets. They beat KKR by 27 runs. Following their victory in 2021, CSK climbed to 4th spot in IPL. Harshal Patel, RCB, became the purple cap holder. Ruturaj Gaikwad, IPL's most junior player, was awarded the IPL orange cup title.
2022 - Gujarat Titans
IPL 2022's final match was between Gujarat Titans (qualifier 1) against Rajasthan Royals (qualifier 2) on May 29, 2022. GT took the title by seven wickets. Jos Buttler scored 863 runs in 17 games, including 4 hundred runs and 4 fiveties. This is the most. The teams that were included in the competition for IPL 2022, were Rajasthan Royals, Lucknow super Giants, Gujarat Titans, Royal Challengers Bangalore. Gujarat Titans (GT) became the first time to be the top team by scoring 20 points. The team won 10 games out of 14 that they played.
