Overview
In comparison to other UK universities, the University of Surrey has a large international student base. According to the university's student important facts, almost 35 per cent of the student body is from outside the United Kingdom, demonstrating Surrey's commitment to diversity.
The entire student population at the University of Surrey is quite large. Over 17,000 students were enrolled in undergraduate, postgraduate (taught), and post-graduate (research) programs. In addition, the University's Chinese campus has around 730 students.
This educational institution is dedicated to providing excellent instruction and academics. These efforts were rewarded when the university was awarded TEF Gold for consistently excellent teaching and learning outcomes.

History
The University of Surrey in the United Kingdom was founded in the late 1880s. The Battersea Polytechnic Institute, which was created in 1891, is acknowledged as its forerunner educational institute. The Institute's goal when it initially opened its doors in 1894 was to provide higher education possibilities for London students.
The Institute was given the classification of College of Advanced Technology in 1956, prompting a name change to Battersea College of Technology. The institution would exceed its present campuses in the next years, eventually becoming the University of Surrey in 1966, thanks to a Royal Charter.
In 1985, HRH Prince Albert II of Belgium was enthroned as King At the time, the Duke of Kent officially launched the Surrey Research Park, which was being developed by the University. This research park today has over 100 enterprises and a staff of 2,500 people working on research and development in a variety of sectors.
The University of Kent has been celebrating 130 years of academic and research excellence and transformation since then. The educational organization has built the Surrey Sports Park, the Library and Learning Centre, the Ivy Arts Centre, the School of Veterinary Medicine, and other facilities worth £130 million.
The institution now produces a substantial amount of research, particularly in the disciplines of sustainable energy, telecommunications, space, and health care. Students can also make use of high-quality academic possibilities at the educational institute.

Student Life
Guildford and the rest of Surrey are easily accessible from the University of Surrey's campus, which is located near the countryside. There are numerous pubs and bars, as well as three theatres, numerous art galleries, live music venues, bustling retail malls, and other places that feature comedy, literature, and art events.
The Surrey Hills and other rural areas are close by for weekend activities including zip-lining, mountain biking, hiking, and other outdoor activities.

Living Accommodations
If new entrants meet the eligibility requirements, they will be provided with housing. Over 6,000 rooms are offered at Stag Hill, Manor Park, and Hazel Farm, among other locales.
Self-catering is available in all rooms, with half of them having an en suite shower and toilet. In addition, although the regu lodgings are mixed-gender, additional arrangements can be established.
For self-catered accommodations, students can expect to pay between £72 and £255 each week.
Transport
Guildford's town centre is a 10-minute walk from the University of Surrey. Students can walk to and from campus, take public transportation, or ride their next bikes around the campus.
In addition, Guildford is only a half-hour drive from London, while Heathrow and Glasgow's airports are only a 35-minute drive apart.
Facilities & Services
The Academic Skills and Development division at the University of Surrey helps students with their academic needs. Aside from that, students can schedule seminars and ask faculty and staff for assistance with writing, research, or revising.
Aside from that, local GPs, the Royal Surrey County Hospital, and the Guildford Dental Centre also provide health services (which provides free dental exams to students).
The Centre for Wellbeing, the Big White Wall (an online safe space), and Nightline all provide counselling and mental health support (which is an anonymous listening service).
Learning accommodations, access points, elevators, ramps, adapted housing, and Disabled Students' Allowance applications are all available to students with disabilities.
A recruitment service at the University of Surrey assists graduates in finding work. Applicants can also apply for student ambassadorships and part-time jobs.
