Imdur also treats esophageal spasms, which are characterized by uncoordinated contractions in the esophagus.
Imdur dosage and treatment
Imdur comes in the form of a tablet and is taken orally through the mouth. It is often prescribed for use daily at one single dose. The recommended doses of Imdur tablets is 30mg or 60 mg. It is not uncommon for the dosage to go up to 120 mg, administered through two 60 mg tablets or one 120mg tablet. The proper dosage will be based on your condition and responses to treatment.
Imdur is meant to be swallowed whole with half a glass of water (4 ounces/120 milliliters) unless otherwise indicated by your doctor. Chewing or crushing the medication can release the drug all at once and increase side effects. So it is advised you do not chew or crush the drug. Also, do not split the drug unless directed by your doctor.
