46 - Santa Ana Nichi 3 --Dec 10
Santa Ana Nichi 3
With the kids at school. This time I have 36 students and am teaching 2nd grade. One day I loved it, then the next, I sat in the room and cried afterwards. Its great and its hard.
Practicing a Christmas song with the other 2nd grade class
Then on Friday they had a cultural event with the surrounding schools, and sang Christmas songs in Spanish and Masagua (the indigenous language that they speak here)
All of the kids were soooo cute!
Mary
We were able to see many different types of traditional dress.
Yae! Angels!
Heading home with their moms, notice how the moms carry their babies on their backs.

Those plays must have been great. What was in the air around the kids (like the photo of the angels). It's not bubbles, so what are they?

Moni, that's what I'm going to call you from now on! The pics with the bubbles are cool, I really like the traditional outfits they wear as well. Those kids are so cute! I bet you just can't get enough pictures of them, eh? Do you have any of that traditional wear? I want to see you bust it out at our Core Four reunion! Core Four Forever!

Such beautiful, colorful costumes! Did you get to read the story of the Poinsetta with the kids? I've been reading Christmas stories to my students. I wish they had big Christmas plays like that here more in the public schools!! Te amo, Mamacita
