2008 UMW High Tea
2008 UMW High Tea
On June 8th,2008, Riviera United Methodist Women held a fundraiser, a high tea, complete with live background chamber music, provided by some talented women in our church. Cheryl Zabel played piano accompaniment for our flutist, Julia, and our violinist, Joanne, and played some music her self!
There were 8 tables, and a hostess for each, who brought her own china, and decorated the center piece. 63 women and two brave men came to our event. Everyone had a great time, and we raised 500 dollars towards our mission fund.
I was the hostess at this table. You can see the the strawberries hiding on the left behind the pink sugar bowl, the home-made eclaires, scones, rasberry jam, lemon bars and brownies, the lemon slices, the clotted cream, and other things of interest. The flowers were from the back garden, that Poppa tom and Kathrine watered when we we back in Milwaukee.

During a high tea, There is an order in serving the food. ( donnie Wilcox did some research.) First course were these tea sandwiches. The strawberries came second, sweets and then the scones were passed last of all.
Leora was the ticket collector.
