Our guide claims that Marie Laveau was a good Catholic who didn't earn this notorious reputation as a Voodoo Queen. She was active in her Catholic Church, and helped to nurse the sick during the many epidemics.
She was allowed to be buried in the Catholic section of this cemetery. Many still believe in her supposed powers and make requests at her grave, xxx.

Nice photos. I wonder how much water was here during the flooding. Everthing was very beautiful when we were there several years ago. thanks for sharing!
