Hello again. Today we're continuing on after finishing up our framing.
First, we had to remove some of the old wiring. That 'some' turned into almost all. The old original stuff had been added on to and the addon stuff was cross connected to the original in a number of places - even on the same circuit. The only safe thing to do was take it all out.

Working on the new panel was a piece of cake. We re-used three old circuits and added four more. All of them were supported with new wiring. Only the garage circuit was left as it had been on this floor.
Here's an example of the new wiring in the bath. One GFCI outlet and switches for the bath's vanity light and fan.
At this point we also completed the HVAC ducting. We hadn't done the return air for this floor yet and there had not been any before. So I tapped into an 8" duct, reduced it to 6" and ran it down to a 10" by 4" boot located just off the floor.
Here's a shot from the rear. All the joints are screwed and taped. The result was rock solid.
The electrical included outlets on 20 amp circuits. At main TV and Computer locations we put in double outlets. We also provided a satellite cable and a Cat6 network cable.
Near the main entrance from upstairs is a dimmer for lights and a switch for an overhead fan.
I changed the two bath switches to three switches in one. In order to get a reasonably priced quiet fan, we had to get one with a light. So the three switches are for the vanity light, fan and fan light.
The Computer area gets it's double outlet along with six Cat6 network cables. All set for a LAN party.
While I worked on connecting outlets and switches, Sue worked on putting up wall insulation. The garage and shop are now set off from the Home Theater area.
Looking at the Home Theater area (12x17) from the main room.
Looking back from the Home Theater area.
The pub area (8x9) isn't as far along. We'll finish this off once the plan for it is set.
The new downsized Bath (6x9). The old floor tiles I saved will fill in what's missing here.
The main room (20x24) will house a TV at the far end and a Computer area where I'm standing. That's my eight foot step ladder you're seeing. I use it as a stand for my laser level to mark off soffit and ceiling lines. Next week we start putting up drywall. That should make a big difference in how it looks.
