We are getting close to finishing here. Let's get up to date. Above we're putting in the tiles I salvaged into the unfinished floor where the old vanity had been.
The floor here is none too flat, but we managed to get a pretty good result.
The next day I added the grout. There is a white haze over the new stuff that should buff out once the grout sets. Somewhere before we added the bathroom door.
I added the vanity, sink, mirror and light. The water and waste hookups went easy and worked well.
Here's a better shot of the fixture. And notice the light/fan fixture in the upper right.
The Home Theater area with four sconces and a ceiling fan. The fan is mounted to the joists above and sticks through the drop ceiling.
I installed three heating ducts also. Above is a metal boot supported by a 2x2 frame hooked up to the ceiling grid.
The main room got three light fixtures and it's own fan.
We even added a wired smoke/CO alarm.
Then it was on to the floor. We started at the old hall end.
Here's a better shot of what it really looks like.
The door from the hall has been removed. Sue patched the sills with wood filler and next week we'll sand it, paint it and install the transition.
Working our way into the pub area meant starting a second floor and then matching the two together.
It went well and looked great.
Our flooring pile was taking a hit. It was about half gone.
Then we took a half day and went back to the lady with the Ikea furniture. The replacement headboard had arrived and we needed to finish up. We mounted this wall desk/locker to one of the bedroom's wall.
Put together this bed and finished the dresser in the other room. Then it was back to the basement.
We had to start another separate floor section, this one a bit bigger, and align and hook it up to the main floor also.
And then the floor was done. While I did some of the long runs, Sue got the moldings painted.
Looking more like a room now. A very nice room.
Next comes the moldings. Then the furnace room door. Then the garage and stair doorways need attention. And the pub needs designing and fitting out.
But we're almost there, and Bri is chomping at the bit to get her basement started. But first, continue on for some . . .
Bonus Pix
Bri brought Cody's motorized jeep over for Reagan to try. Reagan took a turn but decided to quit. Here Jim & Kim look on as Bri gives it a go to convince Reagan to give it another try.
She didn't really fit but was doing well until . . .
. . . she popped an awesome wheelie!
Reagan, and Isaac too, were now convinced that they wanted nothing to do with such things. So it was on to the turkey. That went well at least. Everyone take care.
