30 - El Rancho! --Oct 17
El Rancho! I teach an ESL class on Tuesday nights in the missionery's coffee shop. And one day we were talking about what they like to do, and one guy said horseback riding, and that he had a ranch. Long story short, he invited us out to his ranch called Altarmira in the state of Hidalgo, in a small pueblo called Pedregoso next to a town called Huichapan. It ended up being Marilu, Sara (a friend from my program) and myself. But the Lord was in control and it was a time full of His blessings. It was a weekend I won't forget!
Waiting to go meet Rogelio, Marilu and I getting ready to go ride horses!
The two hour bus ride
Betrize y Patricia - Rogelio's sisters - Who were so nice and so fun!
Sara - Marilu - Me - Rogelio - a Friend
Fun by the campfire!
Keeping warm!
Buenas Noches!
Isn't it beautiful! It was soooo good to get out of the city and into the "acampamento"
It was a 40 minute drive up in a truck to the top of the mountain where his ranch was, from his house.
Rogelio's land
I got to ride one of the horses up the 40 minute trec with his half-brother Valentino
Check out that view!
It was sooo fun! I was wishing that we still used horses as transportation! :)

Interesting how they don't take the halters off before putting on the bridles. Good to see you sitting up in the saddle straight! Wow, horseback riding is one of the blessing of teaching ESL!

Wow, gorgeous views! Did you lope or canter on the horses, or just walk and trot?

OOh, i totally got to gallop, it was awesome!! soooo
awesome!! ya, i think we should all go back to cowgirls and
cowboys - the only thing is for 3 days after it really hurt to walk,
cuz my muscles were so sore. but it was worth it!
