Laundry Center, Paint: Remodeling fun 3
Laundry Center, & Paint: Remodeling fun 3
the first construction mistake of this project was after they had already put in the pipes and hook up stuff, it was discovered that there wasn't enough room for the laundry center and its soon to be delivered cubbard, unless they went into the closet behind it. So it was back to the drawing board, and into the closet they went.
The particle board was removed, and the wood beams were cut out.
The pipes were moved so they could work on the wall.
View from inside the closet of the first incision with the drill saw. Yes, that is rainbow brite wallpaper.
View of first square hole cut from the hallway, with worker in the closet itself, on the other side of the wall.
Pipes in place in the closet, with a view of the saw coming through the wall.
Pictures of all three boxes, covering valves.
New wooden cubbard which covers the boxes.
View from the hallway side. Particle board was nailed over the wall, corner was painted.
Back of the stackable washer / dryer which was hooked up. The installer forgot to unscrew the yellow bolts which protect the drum in the washer in transit. This caused the unit to move and walk, damaging the wall a little, on its first few loads of laundry. The official GE installer removed the bolts, for no extra charge, and thankfully the unit now works.
Our working laundry center awaits its new cubbard and shelves, being made as we speak in the construction company's wood shop.
PAINTING THE HALLWAY
This young man did a beautiful job!
The Molding was added, ceiling cracks were repaired, walls prepped, and the head painter, who was very precise and fussy, directed the painting of the living room.
In all, three different painters painted our living room, also doing a beautiful job.
