Pittsburgh Tea Party

Pittsburgh Tea Party - April 11, 2009
Allegheny Landing, North Shore

For those who have to work on Wednesday, April 15th, the Pennsylvania Tea Party group sponsored the first of several tea parties in the Pittsburgh area.

It was a rare sunny day in Pittsburgh, and several thousand people came to listen to a rousing speech by Dr. Allan Keyes.

There were people of all ages, with a multitude of signs telling the government what we think.

Everyone was courtious and kind, and Ambassador Keyes didn't require notes nor a telepromptor!

The Sons of Liberty attended in Revolutionary War costume, and did a fife and drum rendition of Amazing Grace in honor of the three Pittsburgh Policemen that were murdered the previous Saturday.

Dr. Keyes and several examples of the signs and crowds at the event.

With the crowd thinning out, Linda and I gathered our bucket of tar and bag of feathers, and began to make our way home.  We distributed handfuls of pocket Consititutions as we went.
We were surprised how many adults didn't have a copy of the Owner's Manual.  We buy them to give to children with the assumption that people old enough to vote have one.

There will be tea parties held in virtually every city on Wednesday, April 15th.  We'd highly recommend you attend.  We had a fabulous time; you can only yell at the the TV so much!  Meeting like-minded people that have READ the Constitution is rejuvinating.  You can find locations for the other tea parties at www.taxdayteaparty.com.

I always appreciated Alan Keyes strong pro-life convictions, in contrast to President Obama's very anti-life policies like the Mexico City policy which now has our tax money going overseas to help fund abortions. Yeah for the tea parties!!
