Walnut 106218 adopted 4/1/2016
I am a sweet little gal with lots of energy. I love when the volunteers let me come out to play in the cat room. I even like when they take me out into the store at Petsmart. I get along with the other cats in the cat room but they tire out before I do. Are you looking for a sweet girl who will keep you entertained, well here I am ready and waiting for a new home !
This cat is located at the York County SPCA satellite at Hanover PetSmart. There are times when cats are relocated and this entry may not be currently updated, please email yorkcountyspca@gmail.com to verify the cat's location or for more information.
To fill out an adoption application, you can complete an application located at Hanover PetSmart on the adoption table. You can also complete an application online by at www.ycspca.org , click on Adopt a Pet and then click on Apply on line to bring up an application. Please note that the adoption center is manned by volunteers and arrangements will need to be made for a visitation. Please email yorkcountyspca@gmail.com to make arrangements. Once your application is approved, coordination with an adoption volunteer will be needed to meet at Hanover PetSmart.
Pets adopted from our shelter are spayed or neutered and receive necessary vaccinations as part of the adoption fee.
PLEASE NOTE: The economy has taken its toll on pets. We currently have many cats looking for forever homes. We are running a 2 Purr Special until further notice. If you have room in your heart and your home for 2 kitty cats you can now adopt 2 cats and the 2nd adoption fee will be waived. Be sure to ask about the 2 PURR SPECIAL when you fill out your application for adoption.
Update on Walnut April 3, 2016: Walnut has been enjoying her new home. Friday night she drank water from 8:05 pm till midnight when we went to bed! Wow, she must have been so thirsty?! She is staying in Grace's room, which has a huge window. She sees all of the trees and birds outside her window. She ate a lot her first night home, too! Everyday little by little she has been meeting our dog Lacey who is the same size as her. They seem to be getting along, Walnut makes sure the dog doesn't get too close to her. Walnut is not aggressive to the dog and the dog stays a safe distance of Walnut. She did swat at the dog but that was" telling " Lacey not to sniff her stomach or butt! She has met our parakeet today. We moved our bird to a higher spot . Of course, she loves the bird! She hasn't stopped purring since she's been here and has met lots of new humans in her new family. She will stay in Grace's room while we are at school and work for now. Today, Sunday, is her first day roaming the downstairs. We keep other rooms' doors closed upstairs. Every once in awhile I will see a flash of color fly by as she's found something new to run after or explore. She LOVES water and even loves the dogs bigger water bowl! ( she does have her own water bowl) We will be sending new pictures and updates with her new siblings, dog and bird. What a gift she is!
