WISCONSIN STATE FAIR - Cow, Goats and shows
WISCONSIN STATE FAIR - Cow, Goats and Shows
Tom and I went to the Wisconsin State Fair, held in Milwaukee. I had never seen a cow competition.
Cows wait their turn to be walked around the circle with heads held high.
These cows had personality!
The little boy was the son of the people showing these cows.

Aaron raised and competed with both lambs and steers. One year, his lamb won Grand Champion!

It must take a lot of work raising and preparing the animal for show - a great character builder!

Brings back memories of Rebecca showing her lambs. She did it for 2 years. You should have seen how intent she was on keeping the goat posture correct and in watching the judge and doing right away what ever he said.

When I was growing up in Santa Cruz, our goats were very clever; they would climb up the big oak trees and jump down on the other side of the fence so they could eat the rose bushes by the house!! Our biggest male goat was Pepe and he had huge curved horns that could pin you against the fence if you chose to get in an argument with him!

Pepe and his crew sure were clever. I won't complain about the few grasshoppers who eat my roses anymore!
