One Marine's PC
Back in January of this year a new Marine asked me to find out why his PC wouldn't work.  Everything else checked out so it looked like a motherboard problem.  Three months later the new one arrived. (Long story) Note that this thing can run up to three ganged video cards. It is a gaming monster.

Here's a corner of the newly installed motherboard.  I connected two USB, one firewire and all the front panel connecters.  Each pin had to be connected separately for the firewire.  And I had to saw the connector for the 'power on' LED in half and connect it pin-by-pin too.  None of these wires were hooked up correctly to the old motherboard when I first got the PC for repairs.

As I instaslled the motherboard's drivers I wasn't quite sure what was going on.  Most of the writing was Asian.  And no, they didn't offer a different language option. But hey, it did work just fine afterword.

And here are the twin double wide video cards connected by an SLI jumper. If they add a third one there will be no room for anything else.

An impressive back panel.  Mouse & Keyboard. Coaxial and Optical Digital Sound out. Firewire, USBs, five channel analog sound and two 1000MBps network connections. In the slots are a Wireless Adapter, the two Video Cards with Dual Digital Video out and more USBs.

Under the stock fan is a Quad 6600 Intel processor.  Sitting next to it are 4GB of DDR3 1800 memory.  This system is running Windows Vista Ultimate, 64 bit.  I was pleasantly surprised to find that I did not have to reload Vista after changing the motherboard.

There is only one 500GB hard drive and one DVD drive, so this full tower case is a bit of overkill, but I guess the Marine likes the looks of it.  Another happy customer.

Here are Travis and Jay fixing Mom brunch on Mother's Day. Bri & Chris dropped by too. French toast, pepper bacon, turkey bacon, hash browns, strawberries and Mamosia's all around.

Jim, Kim & Co. came over later in the day with bags of goodies from Chili's.  Here Reagan is doing her bunny jumps, if memory serves.

Isaac enjoyed his Grandma walker.

Grandma Sue watches Isaac chew instead of drink.  He has his first tooth (front bottom left) with more obviously coming.

Y'all take care.
